Freedom Hill's Youth Media Camp

Freedom Hill's Youth Media Camp is a 4-week documentary production program connecting NC students, age 14-19 years old, to Princeville's Black history. Students will conduct interviews, learn oral history skills, explore archives and learn the basics of documentary filmmaking. The program will culminate in a short participatory documentary about Princeville’s inaugural Homecoming Celebration.

Students will receive a stipend ranging from $500-750 for their participation in the camp.


National Teacher Appreciation Day, also known as National Teacher Day, recognizes dedicated educators across the country. As part of Teacher Appreciation Week, the celebration takes place on the Tuesday of the first full week in May each year.

The National Education Association describes National Teacher Day “as a day for honoring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make to our lives.”

National Administrative Professionals’ Day, also known as Secretaries Day or Admin Day, recognizes the professionals who keep an office running smoothly every day. Celebrate these professionals on the Wednesday of the last full week in April of each year. The day recognizes the work of secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists, and other administrative support professionals. Central to any business, these professionals keep an office organized and efficient.

National Assistant Principals Week

The week of April 8 is National Assistant Principals Week. The National Association of Elementary School Principals (NASSP) and the American Federation of School Administrators (AESP), have designated this week to honor assistant principals and acknowledge their key role in the achievements of schools and students nationwide. Princeville Elementary would like to recognize and honor Ms. Tomekia Brown. We appreciate all of your hard work and dedication to Princeville Elementary students, staff, and school. Thank you!

Princeville - Hour of Code 2021
