Read to Achieve Law (RTA)

Read to Achieve is a program implemented by law in North Carolina. The goal of this program is to ensure that every student read at or above grade level by the end of third grade and continue to progress in reading proficiency so that he or she can read, comprehend, integrate, and apply complex texts needed beyond elementary school for secondary education and career success. By law, students who do not meet the Read to Achieve, or RTA, requirements by reading on grade level by the end of the third grade will not be promoted to the next grade level and must be retained. We want to ensure success of each student and continue to make improvements for our school. We also want to share transparently our data for RTA for parents and community members. Please see our 2022 RTA Data attached.
